This series of work captures the abstract shapes and colours of nature, focusing upon the bark of the tree and how the light combines with the natural colours to produce a ‘natural’ abstract. Chris found that a single tree can portray infinite views due to the tree’s growth, time of day and time of year. It is impossible to duplicate any single tree as the work is a snapshot of single point in time.

 

This series is of great significance for Chris’s artistic outlet. Presenting nature’s abstract through his art is Chris’s way of showing his love and respect for the humble tree.
